China Anne McClain Makes Her Broadway Debut in The Great Gatsby

China Anne McClain has had an extraordinary career from a very young age. From Tyler Perry’s Daddy’s Little Girls and House of Payne to Disney’s A.N.T Farm and Descendants, she’s been a memorable part of many childhoods and has built an extensive portfolio. She definitely deserves a spot on that Disney Channel Mount Rushmore.

Now she’s bringing that remarkable talent to Broadway. She’ll star in The Great Gatsby as Daisy Buchanan, starting Aug. 3 in New York City. She will star opposite Ryan McCartan, according to Playbill.

This announcement has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response from longtime fans, many who are eager to see McClain back in the spotlight.

One fan wrote, “She is going to make a great Daisy!” Another fan commented, “I love her voice. I’d love to support her. So happy she’s still thriving” While another pointed out that this is not the first time a Disney alum has been cast in this play, writing, “The Disney kids are taking over Broadway!!!
